Must-Do Things in Colorado To Get The Most Out of The Fall Season

Things to do in Colorado This Fall Season

The fall time is a perfect time to cross off the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park Via Ferrata on your list of “must-do things in Colorado this fall.” The lack of crowds, perfect weather, and fall color displays truly make it the best time of year to experience the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park Via Ferrata attraction in Colorado.

So, with that, fall is considered one of the most wonderful seasons at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park in Colorado.

Follow this list of 3 must-do things in Colorado to get the most out of the fall season.

1. Check Out the Best View of the Fall Colors

The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park as part of the Front Range is going to be gorgeous (no pun intended) drive no matter where you are coming from in the state.  During the fall months, with the different angle of the sun compared to summer, the Royal Gorge takes on different hues of reds, and the landscape turns to beautiful fall colors.

Along with our changing fall colors, you will experience cooler weather, but still warm enough to where it’s comfortable to explore every end of the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park in Colorado to find the best view. The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is located in a sweet spot in Colorado, wherein the fall months the weather is slightly warmer than Colorado Springs but not summer warm where you need an outfit change.

Who knows, your favorite view could be from the Aerial Gondola. Seeing the spectacular fall colors is definitely a must-do thing in Colorado this fall season.

2. Get the Most Out of the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park Without the Crowds

When you visit the Royal Gorge Bridge in the fall months, not only will you have a chance to experience some spectacular fall colors, but you can do so without worrying about long lines.

During the busier park months —specifically in the summertime— we experience an influx of tourists and a variety of other visitors from all over the country, and even the world. We love sharing the Royal Gorge Park experience with anyone who wants to visit, but sometimes the busier months make for longer wait times.

The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is open 365 days a year (weather permitting.) All of the listed attractions —aside from the carousel— are open throughout the fall months so you and the family can enjoy the thrill of the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park without the long wait times.

3. Best Time of Year For The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park Via Ferrata in Colorado

Via Ferrata attractions are relatively new concepts in the United States, but they are becoming more and more common throughout Colorado. However, a majority of Colorado Via Ferrata attractions live within the mountain towns that flip to ski towns at a higher elevation and aren’t accessible once ski season begins.

For more information on the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park Via Ferrata attraction in Colorado visit the Via Ferrata page. You can even schedule your Via Ferrata tour directly online.

Best Things to do in Colorado for the Fourth of July — Veteran Monster Truck Event & More at America’s Bridge

Best things to do in Colorado

As American’s, we know the story. Best Things To Do in Colorado for Memorial Day Weekend

On July 4th, 1776, the United States gained its independence from Great  Britain — therefore, America was born, and the Fourth of July is now observed as America’s Birthday.

Today, Americans continue to follow suit and celebrate the Fourth of July by hosting and/or attending American-themed parties for friends and family to commemorate another year of the United States’ independence.

Although this year has been anything but ordinary, we thankfully are able to celebrate the United States turning 244 years old outside of quarantine, but still six feet apart.

With that in mind, here are some of the best things to do in Colorado for Independence Day this year:

Witness An American Veteran, “The Veteran” Monster Truck at the Royal Gorge Bridge

This Fourth of July, we will be hosting “The Veteran” at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. “The Veteran” is a ten-foot-tall, ten thousand pound mega monster truck that pays tribute to all U.S. veterans.

Fourth of July is one of the most patriotic days out of the entire year for Americans. Come take some photographs and check out the largest veteran mega monster truck in the United States at the highest suspension bridge in America – it doesn’t get more patriotic than that.

Catch a Live Show — ( Live Music & Nature’s Educators)Best things to do in Colorado

Watch Juno the eagle spread his wings at the Plaza Theater when you catch the Birds of Prey Show by Nature’s Educators.  See other magnificent raptors such as Wicket the owl. Showtimes are at the top of each hour between 1-4 pm.

If you are in the mood for rock ‘n roll, the Elk Park Amphitheater features the Atomic Fireballs 12:30-4:30 pm, July 2-5. Seating is a large grassy knoll so bring a blanket or chairs, your snacks, and drinks and then settle in for a great afternoon of fun music.

Feel Alive — Free Fall, Suspend, Climb and Walk Above the Arkansas River more than a 1,000 feet below.

Make this Fourth of July one you won’t forget by doing something adventurous.

When you visit the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park this Fourth of July, not only will you have the opportunity to walk across the highest suspension bridge in America, you also will be able to experience America’s Bridge like never before — by riding some of our adventurous rides and attractions (the Skycoaster, Cloudscraper Zipline) or climbing the Royal Gorge Via Ferrata.

Our Skycoaster is a thrilling experience where you will momentarily free fall 1,200 feet above the Arkansas River and then soar 50 mph through the air — this is a rush that is hard to duplicate. The Skycoaster holds up to three people that are 42”-82” tall. There is no weight restriction for this attraction, but there is a flight suit. Riders must fit into the flight suit in order to experience the Skycoaster.

America’s highest Zipline, the Cloudscraper by ZipRider, will allow you to fly parallel to America’s Bridge 1,200 feet above the Arkansas River. Race you to the other side!

The Royal Gorge Via Ferrata experience will allow you to scale the side of the gorge for a Royal Gorge Bridge and Park adventure unlike any other. These guided climbing tours are designed to be a challenge for all skill levels.

All in all, the Skycoaster, Cloudscraper, & Via Ferrata are definitely some of the best things to do in Colorado this Fourth of July.

Best View in the House

You can count on the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park as having some of the best views in Colorado.

Take a stroll across the bridge and capture the heart of Colorado with scenery that will take your breath away.  Be sure and take a photo by your state flag with your family so you can remember this special day.  Grab one of your favorite grill items, an ice cream cone, or maybe your favorite beverage,  and then sit back and relax at one of the scenic areas in the park.

There will not be any fireworks within the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park due to fire restrictions.

What Are You Waiting For?

Overall, these are just a few things you can experience this Independence Day at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park.

Rocky, a two-year-old male Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix, loves rockin’ around the Christmas tree, and belly rubs.

Three-year-old Allie is a real people person. She’s a red heeler who sits pretty, works hard and plays hard, for treats of course.

Bear, the border collie knows all kinds of magic tricks and is happiest when he’s on an adventure. He’s at the top of his class and has the best of manners.

Chert the three-year-old lab mix has white-tipped twinkle toes and her favorite hobby is snuggling in for a winter’s nap after a day full of play. She’s known for her warm, welcoming butt wiggles.

Pete, er, Santa asks that everyone take the time to paws and remember his tail-rriffic friends this holiday season. The Fremont County Humane Society is always in need of Dog and Cat Food, go to www.humanesocietyfremontcounty.org for approved brands.
