During your visit to the Royal Gorge for Spring Break, you will likely experience warmer weather and longer days. These are all the signs of summer and there is no better way to celebrate the break from homework and classes than to visit one of Colorado’s most adventurous attractions, the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park.
1. Crossing the Royal Gorge Bridge
Your daily admission to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park includes access to walk across the Royal Gorge Bridge. Suspended 956 feet above the Arkansas River, you can walk the wooden planks of the renowned Bridge. The sweeping views of the mountains in the distance and the wind rushing up from the depths below will give you the ultimate Colorado experience.
Take a ride on the Aerial Gondola, which is included in your daily ticket. The floor-to-ceiling windows give you amazing views of the landscape as you cross the Royal Gorge, from rim to rim! It will be a ride to remember. Benches inside the gondola cars make this one of the most family friendly rides at the park.
2. Climbing the Royal Gorge
For a more adrenaline-pumping experience, take the whole family on a guided Via Ferrata tour! This is our newest attraction and one of the most unique Via Ferrata routes in Colorado. As far as Spring Break trips go, it’s no day at the beach. The rough granite walls make climbing the Royal Gorge a heart-pumping experience, and it will be a memory that lasts a lifetime. Climbers can also cross a mini suspension bridge on one of our Via Ferrata tours and have plenty of opportunities for the perfect picture. The views from the sides of the rock walls show the Royal Gorge Bridge at an angle you can’t find anywhere else in the park. The view will make you realize just how high up you were when you crossed the bridge!
Along the Via Ferrata route, you may get the chance to spot some of Colorado’s famous wildlife, including big horn sheep as they make their way along the cliffs! The experience of our Via Ferrata is unlike any other. Our expert guides will educate you on the Royal Gorge Region’s environment as well as show you the perfect spots for your photos! Reserve your spot during Spring Break today!
3. Soaring Over the Royal Gorge
Ever wondered what it feels like to fly? Now is your chance! At Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, visitors can ride our Royal Rush Skycoaster and soar over the rim of the Royal Gorge! As one of our most breathtaking experiences, the Skycoaster will give you the feeling of flying and show you a bird’s eye view of the Royal Gorge. Up to three riders can strap in together and swing 50 mph back and forth over the Royal Gorge.
Next try out the Cloudscraper Zip Line to fly across the Royal Gorge, rim to rim. You can zip alongside another rider 1,200 feet above the winding Arkansas River at the bottom of the gorge. The fresh Colorado air will rush over you and give you yet another experience of a lifetime. Make it a Spring Break to remember at Royal Gorge Bridge and Park!
4. Playing at the Park
At Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, we welcome guests of all ages! For the little ones, visit the south side of the park where parents can find a playground for the kids. Our Tommy Knocker Playland is three stories tall for all your kiddos to play together! Kids will find ropes, slides, nets, tunnels, and so much more for their enjoyment. After running around the playland course, kids can visit Ole Zeb’s Sluice Box to search for fossils and gems, and learn about our rich mining history!
